The topic I will be exploring is om COVID-19 and its impact on individuals’ mental and social lives. The outbreak of this epidemic certainly affected all; it has presented many challenges to both local communities directly impacted by the pandemic and the global community in determining how to react to this outbreak on a larger scale. The social distance and the security measures affected their relationship among people and their perception of life. The Coronavirus psychologically impacted the well-being of groups, such as children, young adults, college students, and health care staff, in which many of them experienced PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other distressing symptoms. Furthermore, the constant fear of contagion affects an individual’s daily life and leads to social isolation, modifying human relations. I still need to know how the government was able to control the situation. What were the recommendations for parents to help their children? How did these groups of people try to cope with the conditions? I want to research more if a specific group of individuals was impacted the most by the pandemic. One of the sources I plan to use is “What Risks Does COVID-19 Pose to Society in the Long-Term?” World Economic Forum by John Scott. This source gives an insight into what specific actions and choices individuals and the government make affects their mental health. In the end people face two different emotions at once, including fear and optimism towards the impact of Covid-19.
